Even after mounting over 10,000 TV's myself, it is often that a mounting solution needs to be found for a TV mounting situation with the mounting needs that arise. In Arizona, builders are allowed to separate wood studs in drywall walls 24", horizontally, this can create a lot of issues, especially with larger TV's. This can lead to unsafe TV mounting when less-experienced installers make decisions to save time, rather than complete the job safely. We are called periodically about fixing a TV where a handyman service, movers, cable guy, friend or someone has mounted a TV and it's become unstable. This is usually because someone has winged it and usually because the TV mount doesn't fit the wall stud configuration in relation where the customer wanted the mounted TV to be centered on the wall horizontally. So, that's when improper anchoring happens. I've seen articulating mounts on large TV secured to just drywall with no attachment to studs, a disaster waiting to happen. There are scenarios when anchoring to drywall is safe and effective. The mounts we carry, normally meet all stud configurations so we will be able to guarantee the mounting for life, they will not come off the wall until removed.
